In Men’s Health, Macaela MacKenzie shines the spotlight on Jon Venus, a bodybuilder and fitness trainer with more than 350 Youtube subscribers who adopted a vegan lifestyle a few years ago and is in the best health he has ever enjoyed.

In the article, Venus explains that “When I changed to a 100 percent plant-based diet, I noticed countless improvements to my performance in the gym—much to my surprise,” Venus says. It started with his energy levels. “I was feeling sore less often and always had the energy to give 100 percent effort in my workout sessions,” he says of the first three months of eating vegan meals.”

The article explains that “Intermittent fasting (IF) involves organizing your eating around the time of day, eating normally for certain hours of the day (or days of the week), and fasting for others. To maximize fat loss and muscle gain while following a diet like this, you’ll need to schedule your exercise sessions strategically around those fueled or fasted windows.”
